THE AFRICAN CAPACITY BUILDING FOUNDATION
ACBF vision for Africa is that of a continent recognized by its global partners for its socio-political and economic capabilities and its endowment. A continent that has effective institutions and policies acquired through sustained investment in people and institutions to deliver development results for poverty reduction. ACBF envisions being the leading African institution in building sustainable human and institutional capacity in the core public sector and within interface areas among national and regional stakeholders in the effort to promote good governance and spur sustained economic growth.
THE UNITED STATES AGENCY INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The United States has a long history of extending a helping hand to those people overseas struggling to make a better life, recover from a disaster or striving to live in a free and democratic country. It is this caring that stands as a hallmark of the United States around the world -- and shows the world our true character as a nation. U.S. foreign assistance has always had the twofold purpose of furthering America's foreign policy interests in expanding democracy and free markets while improving the lives of the citizens of the developing world. Spending less than one-half of 1 percent of the federal budget, USAID works around the world to achieve these goals.
DRC supports research in developing countries to promote growth and development. We work with researchers and innovators in those countries to find practical, long-term solutions to the social, economic, and environmental problems their societies face. Our goal is to bring choice and change to the people who need it most.
